Fruit tree nursery question
Yes, great workshops, great tree development, terrible customer service. I visited the place twice for workshops. They went through growing pains with a big expansion two years ago. A friend ordered trees, he phoned and phoned, the trees arrived end of June (they should be planted in May) and he had many problems. I would arrange to pick up personally with likely better luck. Some trees they purchase and resell at a mark up. Related family is windmill point farms, and the tree hustler. Nut trees they bring in from grimonut.com from Grimo nursery Niagara (marked up of course).
Bottom line shop around and buy from several places, or make a test order and see how they do. Fyi I plan to order from them next year (my own test order).

Fruit tree nursery question
MORI nurseries is the big name in trees and they supply numerous garden centres (they are working with SONG for hazelnut production)
Whiffletree Farm and Nursery is supported by the Green Barn people so a big overlap in product. Its run by a Mennonite (or is it Amish Family?) and they are probably more reliable.
For apples Siloam Orchards http://www.siloamorchards.com/fruit-trees-apple.php
Has the biggest variety of apples including numerous heritage and cider apples. They sell apples at the gate and at a farmers market (Barrie?) and are a "must check out" if apples are your thing.

I had looked at the Siloam website but hadn't realized they are in Uxbridge, which is quite close for me. Looks like I'll be heading over there later this week!..... Was hoping to plant some hazelnuts this year, but it seems I'm I may be too late as every website I've checked recently says they are sold out.

Fruit tree nursery question
So, I planted plums, pears and apples from local garden centres in the last few weeks (need one more plum). Now I have hazelnut/ filbert seedlings and buartnut trees coming via mail order from Golden Bough. And on Wednesday I'm going to Siloam to pick up Hudsons Golden Gem and Roxbury russet apples :)
Thanks to Baronrenfrew and Killerbunny for their assistance!
